Is CV Maker really free?

Yes. The builder, five templates, ATS check, local storage, JSON backup, application tracker, and PDF export are free. Optional AI uses your own provider key, so that provider may charge for API usage.

Where does CV Maker store my resume?

In IndexedDB inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded to a CV Maker server. Export important resumes as JSON before clearing browser data.

Does the ATS check send my resume anywhere?

No. It runs locally with keyword extraction and a bundled ESCO-derived skills taxonomy. The result is guidance, not a guarantee of an employer's ranking.

What does the optional AI assistant receive?

Only the information needed for the action you explicitly start. It travels directly from your browser to your configured provider, never through a CV Maker server.

What is the Pinboard?

Infinite canvas boards for the messy part of a search: pin notes, screenshots, PDFs, and job links, then arrange them until the picture makes sense. Boards and their files live in IndexedDB in this browser, never on a server.

Can I move a resume to another device?

Yes. Export it as human-readable JSON and import it in another browser. The profile photo is included in the same file.

Are exported PDFs searchable and ATS-readable?

Yes. CV Maker builds a real A4 PDF with selectable text and a logical reading order. ATS behavior varies, so always review the result before applying.
